Multi-room Entertainment Systems
Quality sound and vision anywhere
There is available on the market today a wide range of easy to use multi-room entertainment systems, suiting different user requirements.
If you are planning a new build, thinking about renovating or even just re-wiring a property, it is well worth running cables for audio, video and data even if you don't plan to use them immediately.
With a multi-room entertainment system it is now possible to select and enjoy music, radio, TV, sky or DVD's no matter where you are in your home. How about dad watching a movie in the lounge, the children watching TV in their bedrooms, mum listening to a CD whilst relaxing in the bath and grandad is in the garden enjoying his favourite radio station. You can select your music or video in every room via a wall keypad or a hand held remote control.
At the heart of a modern multi-room entertainment system you would have a hard disk server. Like giant iPods these will store your entire music/DVD collections on one hard driver. If you have a TV in the room, your entire music/DVD selection can be displayed on the screen. Play lists can be created in advance so that you have several hours of music ahead of time for your dinner party.
Today, there is so much choice when it comes to what type of speakers to install in your house and garden. Do you require traditional floor standing speakers or speakers that are designed to be installed out of sight in ceilings or walls. At Rococo we will talk you through all the options available to you.

The first step in planning your multi-room entertainment system is to think in detail about your requirements. The following questions will help guide you:
Where do you want to enjoy your system? Think about the specific areas in which you want to enjoy your system.
- Will you spend more time in some than in others?
- What level of sound quality do you want to achieve in each area?
What do you want your system to do?
- Do you want to access your music from CD, radio, hard-disc?
- Do you want to access video media? DVD, TV, Satellite, hard-disc?
- Will you want to use the system differently in each area, e.g. music in the bathroom, music and movies in the kitchen?
- Do you want your system to integrate with lighting control, home automation, security, air-conditioning?
How will your system be used?
- Who will use the system?
- Will they use it frequently or infrequently?
- Do some areas require only basic functionality, e.g. volume control?
- Do some areas require more detailed control, e.g. direct track access, track skip, etc?
Having identified your basic requirements, the next step is to contact us to discuss your plans in more detail. We will arrange to meet with you to learn more about your plans, to give ideas of what is possible, and to demonstrate the performance and functionality options available to you.
Once you have finalised the specification of your system, we will ensure that your system is installed to a standard of fit and finish that you would expect from a true specialist. We will also stay in touch to provide ongoing assistance and advice should you wish to upgrade the performance and functionality of your system in the future. We are certified/authorised to supply and install all the systems recommend below.

Opus

Opus 500 Multi-Room
The Opus 500 is a complete whole-house entertainment solution which provides stunning quality music and video throughout the home and is extremely easy to install, use and service. A single run of Opus’ own Balanced Transmission Cable (BTC) or CAT5 Cable to each zone ensures simple installation and interference free reliable signal transfer. Up to 5 sources of any make can be connected and then controlled by touchscreen or button kepads. Various options and accessories are available for every home.
The heart of your Opus system is something you won’t see very often!
With Opus, there are no ugly boxes of electronics or cables to clutter your home. Instead, the Opus hub – essentially the heart of your multi-room system – is hidden out of view – normally in a service cupboard. This is joined by a host of products known as source equipment. These include music and video servers, tuners and other music and video sources which you will be able to fully access from keypads or remotes in each room.
From the service room, cables travel through the walls in your home to transmit audio, video, two-way command signals and power to the keypads, amplifiers and speakers in each Opus equipped room.
Can Opus be installed in every room?
The extent of Opus’ inclusion in your home is down to you. A standard system will serve four rooms (generally referred to as zones) plus an additional four other rooms with more limited access to sources (these are known as sub-zones). However it’s perfectly possible to specify a system capable of providing coverage to significantly larger properties. In fact Opus will concurrently serve up to 24 zones / 24 sub zones with hi-fi quality music and crisp video! at Rococo we will be able to answer any question about your own installation.
iPods™ can integrate seamlessly as well as a wide array of third party controls, so that lighting, security systems and suchlike can also be controlled via Opus wall controls.
Discrete and stylish in-ceiling speakers such as the OS265CC offer almost invisible hi-fi quality sound powered by maintenance free amplifiers.
All this makes Opus the first choice in multi-room entertainment.

OPUS 300 Multi-Room System
The Opus 300 system is based on commonly available Cat5 and coaxial cabling delivering audio and video throughout the home from a central hub. The MCU300 (hub) is usually located in a service cupboard but is so small that it can also be mounted behind a hi-fi system enabling existing source components to be shared across the home. In such an installation, the traditional hi-fi or home cinema experience can be retained for the main zone - simply the best of both worlds!
In every room simple keypads and remote controls provide intuitive yet sophisticated control over the system and sleek in-ceiling speakers guarantee punchy stereo reproduction.
Opus 300 delivers new standards at a more affordable price than ever before using low-cost and easy to install Cat5 cable to deliver music, power and control commands to each keypad. As such, no additional power supply is required. There’s even a ‘keypadfree’ option thanks to the revolutionary remote controlled AMR650 active inceiling speaker.
An Opus 300 master control unit (MCU300) will serve up to eight rooms, four main zones and four sub zones, which can even be daisy-chained to allow a single system to serve as many as 32 rooms. Up to six sources can be connected to enable each room to enjoy different music and / or video concurrently. Video is distributed by a simple but highly effective video switching unit(VSU300) and a single run of high quality RG6/CT100 co-axial cable to each room.
A range of accessories is also available to ensure the perfect Opus 300 set-up. These include IR emitters, learning remote controls and extra power supplies for use when sub-zones are included. Additionally, premium speakers and brushed steel keypads are often selected as upgrades.
