To just list the features and functions of this receiver does not somehow seem sufficient. Normally we like to give you the facts about a piece of equipment without too much embellishment but do do that to the AVR600 would be doing it an injustice. After hearing it in action it was quite clear this was something apart from the pack. Taking nothing away from other manufacturers machines that perform admirably the AVR600 sounded stunning. It seems all the audio tuning, careful design and component selection their engineers have done was very much worth the effort. Amplification is 7 channel and 120w for each of those channels. The massive power supply provides enough current to keep all these channel operating at their rated output even when all are in action. 4-8 Ohm loads. All components are selected for their audiophile quality, where necessary capacitors even get a special rubber 'jacket' to prevent external vibration from injecting noise through them into delicate circuits. Feeding these precision audio circuits is the processor. analogueue Devices ADSP-21336 & ADSP-21367 DSP chips are used to perform the decoding and very high quality Crystal Semiconductor 24-bit 192kHz DAC's. Dolby standard 5.1/7.1 and Dolby HD formats are decoded as well as DTS5.1/6.1 and HD formats. The precision of the decoding is superb and with the quality of the amplification anything less than that would be obvious. From the massive cacophony of a modern blockbuster to the fine details of an orchestra every part is clearly presented across the soundstage and in stunning clarity. Naturally HDMI inputs are present to pass the audio streams to these decoders and the video through to your monitor(s*). (*2 HDMI out available). Other video connections range from composite to component with the video circuit offering HDMI conversion of analogueueue video with scaling up to 1080p by Pixelworks. Frame rate conversion and a variety of noise reduction circuits can also be switched in to help clean up images if required.
Integration of the receiver into a custom installation is made easier by the provision of two extra zones. The second zone can operate its own volume control and source selection (audio/video) via a dedicated pre-out. If you prefer the main area can be switched to operate as a 5.1 system and the two extra channels used to run zone 2. The third zone has an independent volume control and the source will follow that selected for zone 2. Each of the three zones has its own IR input on the rear panel to feed control signals into the AVR600 and also pass other IR signal through onto source equipment via the IR out jack. RC5 codes are available for control of these zones and the full codes set for this and the main receiver is available in the RS232 control download from the trade section of this website. Three 12v triggers are available, one for each zone. The remote control provided is the CR102 multifunction remote. Other than full control of the AVR it can operate up to 7 other components both Arcam and non-Arcam. Its internal database of codes means it most likely has the commands already in it but can learn codes as well. For ultimate control the Ethernet and RS232 connections provide 2-way feedback and control for more advanced systems such as Crestron, AMX and Philips Pronto. To set up the receiver there is an auto set-up function with a calibration microphone. This in-house system monitors the response through your speakers and makes all necessary adjustments to timing/speaker sizing. Room EQ is available as a user adjustable option. Features: |
