This is exactly what Glasgow born Ivor Tiefenbrun did when he combined two of his greatest loves; music and engineering and embarked on the path, where he was destined to pursue, with his Linn engineering company, an ideal of creating an audio experience that matched a live musical performance, without background noise, without distractions, without fuss, but, with pure listening pleasure guaranteed.

Tiefenbrun created Linn Products to provide a solution to the absence of quality hi-fi equipment that Tiefenbrun, a committed audiophile, become acutely aware as a direct result of his own audio desires.

As technology has changed the way we listen to music, so Linn’s precision engineering has altered to maintain its benchmark products standards from its initial product (Sondek LP12 turntable, a product that first appeared in 1972 and is still the preferred turntable for discerning music lovers, the world over) to their ultra-sophisticated new kid (product) on the block, the digital stream player.
